Wer Devin Townsend kennt, weiß dass der Kreativität dieses Mannes keinerlei Genzen gesetzt sind. Und live ist er immer wieder absolut sehenswert und seine Gigs der Hammer – was er auf „Devolution Series #1 – Acoustically Inclined“, Live in Leeds wieder ganz klar unter Beweis stellt.
Devin Townsend arbeitet derzeit an neuem Material für kommende Alben. Aufgrund des Mangels an Tourmöglichkeiten und Begegnungen mit Fans auf der Straße entschied er sich für eine Reihe von Live-Alben. Er nennt sie Quarantänealben und möchte mit seinen Projekten die Leute unterhalten.

Die Serie wird alle Quarantänelieder, Konzerte und verschiedene Live-Shows der letzten Jahre enthalten.
“So we bring to you the ‘Devolution Series’: a grouping of oddities and interesting material that I would like people to hear, but don’t necessarily want to present as a ‘major release’. The first release is a remixed and remastered version of the ‘Live in Leeds’ show that was originally on the ‘Empath’ Ultimate Edition. It was a cool acoustic show that deserves to be heard I think, so we can use this as an introduction to the series. I’m currently deep in the writing of my new projects and am very excited to be doing so. Thanks for facilitating my ability to do that, and I hope you enjoy the ‘Devolution Series’.”
Die Show „Live in Leeds“ wurde bisher nur im Videoformat veröffentlicht, und „Devolution Series #1 – Acoustically Inclined, Live in Leeds“ markiert jetzt die Audio-Veröffentlichung dieser Show. Das Album wurde am 19. März 2021 veröffentlicht.

In light of the album projects I’m planning for 2021 and 2022, InsideOut has asked to do a series of live albums, quarantine albums, and generally interesting projects that keep people entertained while I’m busy on my next larger releases.
