Die UK Melodic Rocker BLOOD RED SAINTS sind mit ihrem neuen Album „Undisputed“ zurück. Hier gibt es AOR vom Feinsten.
BLOOD RED SAINTS meldeten sich über Frontier Records mit ihrem neuen Album “Undisputed” retour. Musikalisch kehren sie dabei zum Melodic Rock ihres Debütalbums “Speedway” zurück. Wie so viele der neuen Alben wurden auch die Songs von “Undisputed” während der Corona-Pandemie geschrieben. Aufgenommen wurde das Album daher im Heimstudio von Gitarrist Lee Revills. Revills erzählte dazu: „We didn’t set out to write a certain type of record, we brought ideas to the table and they happened to be melodic. As we lived through the process and can reflect on these songs, this feels like it is shaping up to be our strongest album to date.“
Zur Thematik von „Undisputed“ und den Hintergedanken sagte Sänger Pete Godfrey: „Undisputed‘ is the idea behind the artwork being boxing themed, but for sure it’s no concept album. We loved the analogy of the music industry being a fight to get your music heard, to get it out there, and to fight back against the people who want to knock you down. We are back and we’re coming for you!“
Musikalisch stehen die Songs auf “Undispited” in allerbester AOR-Tradition. Hier und da fühlt man sich z.B. an JOURNEY erinnert. BLOOD RED SAINTS wirken aber durchweg Frisch und kreativ. Und Songs wie “Heaven In The Headlights“ oder „Karma“ bergen durchaus Hitpotenzial. Und mit „Complete“ gibt es auch die obligatorische romantische Ballade.
