The third day we spent in Cozumel in Mexico. And on day 4 everyone tried to take as much music as possible with them. Read here what we experienced on the third and fourth day, a little bit of statistics from the press conference and check out our photo gallery from days 3 and 4 on the 70k cruise.

Day 3

On the third day, after a rich breakfast, we disembarked for a few hours and went from Bord to visit Cozumel, Mexico. The Hard Rock Cafe in Cozumel was right in front of the port exit. There was a DJ performing metal at its finest and a metalband prepared everything to perform live a short time later. So some stayed right there and just visited the Hard Rock Cafè, time was too short for excursions anyway. But we ran about 3 km to the next village called San Miguel. There two of us bought the traditional plastic skulls with various carvings. Kitsch as Kitsch can 😀

The village was cozy, the people extremely nice and friendly and the shops mainly sold clothes, souvenirs, silver jewelry and cigars. On the way we drank a delicious cocktail and some of us a small Mexican beer and then took a taxi back to the port to get back on time at 4pm. That was a lot of fun, because another ship was just leaving next to the Independence of the Seas. The metalheads, waiting in a long line for boarding, communicated loudly and with hand signals with the guests of the other ship and vice versa. It created a great atmosphere.

Back on board we gave ourselves a few bands and then ate again in the luxury restaurant. I took the snails in garlic sauce as an appetizer and then the salmon. And brownies I ordered for dessert.

Then some bands again. Which, you can see again in our photo gallery. We ended the evening with collective singing of Irish songs in the Irish Pub, which was great fun.

DAY 4

The last day of the metal cruise had come. We started the day again with a wonderful breakfast, eggs in every conceivable form and many other delicacies awaited us like every day.

Day 4 we then devoted entirely to enjoying music. We attended as many concerts as we could. Take some from our photo gallery. A little melancholy of course sounded later, because the next day we had to board the Independence of the Seas early in the morning after breakfast.

Day 4 was worthy ended for us by the powerful an charismatic death metal band CARACH ANGREN. An amazing gig!

Facts and statistics from the press conference

And finally, some statistics we git on the pressconference.on the 70000tons of Metal Cruise and the ship: 3028 metalheads from 71 countries took part in the cruise. The United States, Germany, Canada, and Switzerland, come fourth. Age groups from 1 to 80 years. Women 38.6 percent and men 61.4 percent. Musicians and crew together comprised 1040 people. The ship crew consisted of 1377 people. The total number of passengers was 5445 people.

Andy, the skipper, apologized for the delay in the announcements and the delayed ticket sales. According to him, this had health reasons. He also addressed the issue of environmental issues related to cruises and promised to keep an eye on the topic and make the cruise as environmentally friendly as possible in the future. In addition, there are justifiably pool boys and not just pool girls. It will! All in all, the cruise was a great and unforgettable experience.

German Version – Deutsche Version

Kitsch as Kitsch can 😀

Danach wieder einige Bands.

Entnehmt unserer Fotostrecke welche.
