Acclimatized in the meanwhile, we devoted the second day entirely to music. And frankly, of course, the culinary offerings of the luxury ship. Read what we experienced on the second day and check out our photo gallery from day 2 at the 70000TONS OF METAL 2020 Cruise .

We spent the second day on the high seas. In the meanwhile we had all acclimatized a little. Slowly we knew our way around the enormous ship and found the concert locations a little faster than on the first day. We decided to use the day for intensive cultural enjoyment and made a clear plan for when we had to appear where in order to see as many of the bands as possible.

Because our group was quite large, we decided that we would always sit in the same niche in the restaurant to find each other in case several of us should eat at the same time. It worked well. We always met friends there.

Speaking of food. There was also the luxury restaurant, which reminded me of a magnificent palais in Vienna. So six of us decided to have dinner there. And the decision was good. In the elegant three-story dining room, each table had its own waiter, who looked after his guests very nicely. Ours was called Deepak and came from India. He was well trained, had a huge sense of humor and did an excellent job. The choice menu consisted of three courses: starter, main course and dessert. I chose the shrimp cocktail, the seafood tagliatelle and the creme brulée. The dishes were well cooked and sometimes not having to fetch anything yourself was fun – especially in the nice atmosphere.

You can see which bands we watched on day 2, as we did yesterday, in our photo gallery. One thing I can tell you in advance, there was also a great offer of bands on day 2. There was something for every taste. My favorites of the day were ORPHANED LAND from Israel, SPOIL ENGINE with their great female singer Iris Goessens and the sympathetic WINTERSUN. Of course guitarist and ex-Scorpion Michael Schenker with his band MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST was also an experience.

For us, the last band of the day was ORIGIN, where they performed the biggest pillow fight during a metal festival. ORIGIN also won records for the largest Wall of Death with pillow fight and the largest circlepit with pillow fight.

After the gig we fell into our beds exhausted.

Tomorrow read what we experienced on day 3 on the 70000TONS OF METAL 2020 Cruiseand look at the corresponding pictures in our photo gallery.
