3 decades of band history, and more ambitious and stronger than ever. Hermitage – the gothic metalpioneers ‘ 13th and latest studio album – was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Paradise Lost, Primordial, Ghost, Sólstafir & many more) at the Orgone Studios in the UK. Building upon the album’s dark, revolutionary and sensitive facets, it’s an entertaining yet epic journey through the darkest days of human existence. But of course, they don‘t stray away from theirmetal roots! Hermitage is a revolutionary, wonderfully intuitive and epic journey by one of the most distinctive dark metal bands of all time, and a testament to what they’ve always loved the most: Honest, emotional metal that binds us even in the darkest times. “We know that we are
As the new co-headliner, INSOMNIUM have used their forced time at home to write and release theircritically acclaimed EP “Argent Moon” with 4 mesmerising music videos – and now, Finland’s melodicdeath masterminds finally cast their shadows over Europe again. Together with Portugal’s dark metallers MOONSPELL, they embark on a co-headline tour to take their chants of burdening gloom across 9 countries in September and October 2022 and will take their most haunting tracks to the stages again, including songs of their latest full-length offering “Heart Like A Grave” that turned to betheir second album in row to reach the #1 spot on the Finnish album charts.Insomnium’s frontman Niilo Sevänen comments:“We are thrilled to embark on this co-headline European tour with our friends Moonspell! It is a very strong package with 5 great bands every night, so you don’t want to miss this tour. See you soon!“
Intrepid progressive Black Metallers Borknagar are no strangers to the scene either. Founded in 1995and featuring members of acts such as Enslaved, Immortal, Gorgoroth and Ulver, there’s hardly any other formation that developed classic Black Metal with as much musical versatility as these Norwegians!True North, the band’s latest studio output, is the vanguard forward, clear-sighted, refined, and full of power. Truly, there’s no holding back now, but with more than 25 years of band history, it’s kind of a small wonder that main man Brun and Borknagar are still with us. Fortuitous, or part of the plan all along?!As for what Brun wants Borknagar’s ardent fans to think after hearing True North, the cards are not in his hands. Rather, true to the band’s mandate, he wants the hordes of free thinkers to arrive at their own conclusions while on Borknagar’s newest musical adventure. Indeed, Brun offers, “listen and let your mind fly!” But for those in need of a little guidance, it’s true north of Winter Thrice, Empiricism, and The Olden Domain, an encapsulation of 25 years of work in a single, forward-moving entity. It’s the start of something new, the next stage yet it’s patently familiar. The time to wonder at and find direction in the sonic spectacle that is Borknagar’s True North is now – on stage.
Finnish frontrunners WOLFHEART have proven themselves to be one of metal’s most captivating actsof northern heritage and one of the fastest rising bands in the international melodic death metal scene. Over the course of the last two years alone, the band has remained relentless with the releaseof their highly acclaimed full-length, Wolves of Karelia (2020) and Skull Soldiers EP (2021), gaining massive praise from fans and press alike with their icy tales of battle and triumph. The new album, King Of The North (out September 16, 2022 via Napalm Records), picks up right where WOLFHEART left off – taking every aspect of their trademark sound of colossal melodies, growling vocals and driving drum rhythms to searing new levels.
Rounding up the eclectic package, this combo crafts their unique brand of melodic death/doom metal deep in the heart of Texas, building their sound on dark, trudging riffs, atmosphere, and soaring melody. With what began as a one-man project by guitarist/vocalist Casey Hurd, the band now has a full-lineup of talented musicians pushing the them along. Having released their highly praised EP “Death of the Cosmic” in 2020 under Napalm Records, HINAYANA continue to evolve theirsound, hoping to enter the studio soon with new material.
